Matts Leiderstam’s diaporama
For ADA Rotterdam’s project Winter Garden I invited the Swedish artist Matts Leiderstam to make a diaporama about his work. A diaporama is an educational tool which consists of a series of slides, accompanied by a recorded lecture.In the lecture Leiderstam speaks about his interest in landscape in relation to the act of looking. In his work Leiderstam takes up different roles, like the tourist, the art historian and the copyist who visits the museum to copy painting. In doing so Leiderstam analyses different modes of looking and brings these together in installations.
